Poll Voting

What you’ll need to vote in person:

Go to the correct polling place for your precinct
Take some form of current identification. ID requirements

Be prepared
Record voter turnout is expected. Lines may be long. Many ballots are long and complex. Know your choices before you go to the poll. You may take your list of choices with you. If you wish, mark up your copy of your Voters Guide, and take it along. Be sure to take it with you when you’re finished.

A note about provisional ballots

In King County, Provisional Ballots have a secure means for voters to track ballot processing and ensure that their vote has been counted. You must use a provisional ballot if:

  • You have no identification (for a list of valid, acceptable ID)

  • You go to the wrong location, and don’t have time to get to the right place before the polls close. Why? Each precinct may have different issues on the ballot. If you are in the wrong location, the poll workers will not have the proper paper or electronic ballot for your precinct’s candidates or issues. FIND YOUR PRECINCT NOW

  • You have requested and been sent and absentee ballot, and you have lost, forgotten, or damaged your ballot.

  • You are visiting from another state, and don’t have an absentee ballot for your precinct. You may vote for President.
