What We Do

The mission of Literacy*AmeriCorps is to build community through literacy education, civic engagement and lifelong learning.

Literacy*AmeriCorps, sponsored by the generous support of King County Library System, has served thousands of adult learners by teaching and tutoring English as a Second Language (ESL), Talk Time (Conversational ESL), Adult Basic Education (ABE), GED-prep, family literacy, computer literacy and citizenship literacy.  Literacy*AmeriCorps member have also coordinated successful volunteer programs, established strong community partnerships, and increased awareness of literacy needs in the Seattle and King County area.
